Your own Garden Fireworks.

Your own Garden Fireworks.

A beautiful fireworks display can really brighten up the dark cold evenings that November brings. Some of the professional displays that are put on around the country are stunning, and with a bit of research you’ll be able to find one that isn’t far from you at all. If a big display is what you’re looking for then look to your local amusement parks, sports clubs and city centres.

However, we know how much you all love your gardens, and not everybody wants to venture too far in the cold. So if you’re thinking about going for a more personal affair on your precious little plot of land, here are a few ideas of how to enjoy your own Small Garden Firework Display.

Fireworks for sale to the public currently come under two classifications: Garden and display fireworks. Display fireworks have a spectator distance of at least 25m, making them unsuitable for many smaller gardens. This leaves garden class fireworks which have a spectator distance of at least 5m, or 8m for fireworks classified under the new EU/EN standards.

Despite their smaller size, you can still create quite a stir with garden fireworks if you pick the right ones. Garden class rockets are cheap and still create the same effect of larger display rockets!

Garden class fountains look great at 5m, but pick the larger ones which are priced from £5-£10 individually. Try to avoid the really small ones found in garden selection boxes as they will lead to disappointment.

Garden class cakes are slightly harder to find, but can provide you with a display not far off the performance of much bigger display cakes. Of particular interest are the new 8m (EU classed) cakes from the likes of Absolute Fireworks. Definitely go for these if you’ve got the room.

Small Garden Displays are much more personal occasions and can be really beautiful if planned properly. Remember, however, even though they’re smaller, they’re still very dangerous, so be careful.
